Always trying to figure out how long it takes me to do any particular operation so I understand how long it takes to build the bikes (17 years later. Ugh.). I’m learning that it takes me about a half hour to make a video that took about 8 minutes to shoot! Haha! Seriously though, this filing and sanding procedure has gotten much quicker over the years. (Note: I always file my fillets even if they do come out smooth looking.) An extra minute with the torch saves a lot of time with the filing. Lea

Just one of the millions of steps that go into making a bike. Some people run a tube all the way through the fork blade for this (I used to) but I run it free inside the blade nowadays. It makes feeding the wire through the hole in the fork tang a pretty fun challenge. I’ve gotten pretty good at it over the years.
